Evaluate sentiment in French text
Sentiment labels compress a complex message into a small set of categories. French-language applications need examples that reflect their domain and audience.

Define the target
Distinguish sentiment about a product, a service interaction or a specific sentence. Mixed opinions and neutral requests may not fit a single positive or negative label.
Inspect difficult language
Negation, sarcasm, informal spelling and regional expressions can change meaning. Include realistic examples and avoid translating an English test set as the only evaluation.
Keep interpretation proportionate
Review errors by category and language variety. A sentiment score should not become an unsupported assessment of an individual or a substitute for reading an important message.
